ZCode Review: Harness for GLM-5.2

  • ZCode is a desktop app for coding with GLM-5.2
  • It offers integrations with popular CLI-based agents
  • Users can choose between the desktop app and TUI coding agent

The Buzz Score

The Internet’s Verdict: 70% Hyped, 30% Skeptical

Forum Voices

Users have mixed opinions about ZCode, with some appreciating its desktop app and others preferring TUI coding agents.

I’m somewhat surprised that this is not open source (from what I can tell). Compare to Mimo Code https://github.com/XiaomiMiMo/MiMo-Code (which is a CLI, while this is a desktop app).

Some users are interested in trying out ZCode, especially with its Pro coding plan.

Figured I’d try out their Pro coding plan, seems like it doesn’t necessarily give me that much quota than Opus (at least given how many tokens are needed for accomplishing a certain task), but GLM 5.2 in of itself seems like a beefier Sonnet model, pretty good.

Conclusion

ZCode is a notable release, with its harness for GLM-5.2 and various integrations. However, users are skeptical about the pricing and the “base usage allowance” included in the plans.

It’s impressive all these companies are getting away with “base usage allowance included” or “standard limits”, layering the higher plans as a multiplier of that “base” but never disclosing what it is.
