The Internet’s Verdict: 70% Hyped, 30% Skeptical

Introduction

A recent project has sparked interest online by creating a banned book library in a Wi-Fi smart light bulb.

Forum Reactions

Many have praised the project for its creativity and potential to safeguard freedom of speech.

As the Americans learned so painfully in Earth’s final century, free flow of information is the only safeguard against tyranny.

Others have pointed out that the books in question are not actually banned and are easily available online.

These books are all available on Amazon for under $10. Further, they are often assigned reading in high school or university literature classes.

The project has also raised concerns about censorship and the importance of access to information.

Technical Considerations

The project uses a custom firmware to create a web server that hosts the library.

However, some have noted that Android devices may have issues connecting to the network due to a feature that auto-disconnects from Wi-Fi networks without internet access.

Conclusion

The banned book library in a smart light bulb is a thought-provoking project that highlights the importance of access to information and freedom of speech.
